You would like to visit Rome, but spend your holidays in the midst of nature? This is indeed possible at gorgeous Lago di Bracciano to the north-west of Rome. It presents a unique way of combining nature and culture during your holidays.
This lake of volcanic origin as well as neighbouring Lago di Martignano have been declared a nature reserve; it is an ideal place to spend relaxing holidays and offers manifold recreational activities. Sailing, sailboarding, canoeing, diving, cycling – there are a lot of activities to choose from!
Rome is about 35 kilometres off and can be reached by bus from Trevignano Romano. From Bracciano and Anguillara, the other two towns at the lake, there are trains to Roma S. Pietro at half hour cycles (Time of travel Anguillara – Roma S. Pietro: ca. 40 minutes). From Trevignano Romano there are busses to Bracciano and Anguillara at regular intervals.
On the lake’s northern shore, in the small medieval town of Trevignano Romano, you can enjoy your holidays in friendly holiday apartment Casa del Lago. Lago di Bracciano and the nice Old Town centre of Trevignano Romano are only about two kilometres off.
Casa del Lago is located on a 1 800 m² property and is surrounded by a large garden screening it from view. You can relax together on the spacious terrace and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. The grill comes in handy on pleasant summer evenings.
Those with an athlete’s heart can use the exercise machines provided by the owner or the tennis court 100 metres off. You can also rent bicycles from the cordial owner and explore the area around the lake.

Your 80 m² holiday apartment at Lago di Bracciano is located on the ground floor. Upon entering, you will find the cosy and tastefully furnished living room where a fireside provides for a pleasant atmosphere. The kitchen is equipped with a full oven and a microwave, among other things, and gives access to another terrace at the rear of the house. In the dining room, separated from the kitchen by a bar, you can enjoy local specialities together.
At Casa del Lago, there are two double bedrooms. An additional bed provides sleeping accommodation for a possible fifth guest. From one of the bedrooms you access a small balcony which offers a wonderful view of the lake. The bathroom of your holiday apartment is equipped with shower cabin, WC and bidet.
Furthermore, the holiday apartment comes with TV and a washing machine.
You can park your car on the fenced premises of the holiday apartment.
The friendly and discreet owner of Casa del Lago, who lives on the first floor, will gladly provide advice concerning excursions or recreational activities during your holiday. You can, for example, rent boats or go on a tour round the lake by bike.
The nearest shopping facilities are about 1500 metres off. Restaurants are to be found in the town centre of Trevignano Romano, two kilometres off.

The nice little town of Trevignano Romano, its historic town centre well worth a visit, used to be inhabited by the Etruscans. The finds from those times which were discovered during excavations can now be admired at the commune’s Antiquarium. You should not miss out on visiting the well-known castle of Bracciano, which dominates the landscape. It was built by the Orsini family and is now owned by family Odescalchi. Due to its dimensions and its good state of preservation it counts among the most significant castles in Italy.
The town of Bracciano itself, with its medieval town centre and its numerous small alleys, is also worth a visit. Anguillara, the third town on the shores of Lago di Bracciano, is beautifully located on a small peninsula. Take the ferry connecting the towns at Lago di Bracciano and go on a discovery tour!

Lago di Bracciano is still one of the most important potable water reservoirs for Rome. The lake’s water is, therefore, crystal clear and clean and the ideal place for those enthusiastic about water sports and bathing.
