On a marvellous property, a local family has recently completely restored an oil mill from the 18th century. They are reasonably proud of their “house in the country”, the Domus Agrestis. From the more than 2 hectare property with its olive and lemon trees you have a gorgeous view upon the Gulf of Policastro. Here, above Scario, you experience “total Cilento” – no other region of Italy can possibly offer you “mare e monti”, sea and mountains, so close together and in such breathtaking beauty!
Within a few minutes’ drive of about 6 km you reach the contemplative and picturesque seaside town of Scario. Here you find beautiful beaches (partly shingle, partly sand) and hidden bays in the Infreschi maritime wildlife park.
With excellent hiking possibilities from the house, the Domus Agrestis is perfect for active vacationers. The Monte Bulgheria (1225 m), from which you enjoy a stunning view upon southern Campania, is practically the “house mountain” of the bed & breakfast opened in 2007.
During the renovation of the house, the owners have not only shown an appreciation of good taste, but also taken care to preserve a piece of cultural history. The old millstone, the former threshing yard, the small grotto with the “madonnina” and the spring water fountain are lovingly restored details telling stories of times long gone.
The four guest rooms of Domus Agrestis are located on the upper floor of the house, which is accessed on the ground level from the outside. All rooms are of high quality and furnished individually (double bed and twin beds, respectively) and partly have private outdoor areas.
Standard features include a private bathroom with shower/bidet/WC and hairdryer, as well as central heating. Thus, Domos Agrestis is also recommended for a stay in the winter months.
Special feature of the guest room “Belvedere”, which we have chosen for you, is the spacious panorama terrace. Surrounded by the green of the olive trees you look upon the deep-blue sea and may relax body and soul.

By means of an exterior staircase you access the ground floor of the house. A spacious lounge with an elegant couch set and the beautiful chimney create a cosy atmosphere even on cooler days.
When the sun shines you breakfast on the wide, roofed terrace with splendid sea view. Savour a piece of the Cilento: homemade marmalade, honey from local beekeepers, cheese from neighbouring farming villages and “biscotti fatti in casa” will get you in the right mood for the next day of your vacation.
You may park your car on the property. The nearest grocery stores, café bars and restaurants are found within about 4 km in San Giovanni a Piro or within about 6 km in Scario.
