On the slope above the fishing village of Scario, there used to be a monastery – surrounded by many trees and untouched nature.
Meanwhile a few houses have been built on this beautiful side of the mountain.
The monastery is no longer inhabited by nuns or monks: during the holiday season, the respective owners live in the six separate parts of the house. Casa Daniela and Casa Vivì may become your home for a holiday as well.<//span>
Each apartment measures approx. 80 m² and has its own share of the garden.
Terracotta floors and an open fireside make for a cosy atmosphere. Many of the accessories in these holiday apartments, e.g. embroidered lampshades and decorated pillows, have been crafted by hand with love and care by the owner herself.
In the living-cum-ding room, an arched doorway from the times of the monastery and now fitted with glass doors takes you onto the terrace of the respective apartment’s garden. From here, you have got a splendid view of the Gulf of Policastro with the mountains of the Basilicata rising beyond. The garden with its old trees, manifold bushes and lawn is beautiful.
Holiday apartment Casa Daniela is furnished with many pieces of solid wooden furniture of antique-rustic style. The living-cum-dining room, the kitchen and a separate WC are on the ground floor. On the first floor, you’ll find a bathroom (WC/bath tub with shower device) and the bedrooms - two single bedrooms and a double bedroom, the latter with an en suite WC. From the balcony you can once again enjoy the amazing far-reaching view.
Holiday apartment Casa Vivì is characterized in both its kitchen and its bathroom by beautiful wall tiles, which make for the Mediterranean-romantic touch of the rooms. The kitchen is integrated into the living-cum-dining room. Besides, there is an extra WC on the ground floor. The bathroom (shower/WC), a double bedroom and a twin bedroom are to be found on the first floor.
Both apartments are equipped with TV and washing machine. Moreover, Casa Daniela has central heating, in its small summerhouse a barbecue and an outdoor shower. Both apartments share a parking lot on the property.
The centre of Scario with its grocery stores and café-bars etc is ca. 500 m from Vecchio Casale. The nearest beach is approx. 800 m away.

Prices per week are valid for the number of persons given in brackets and include bed-linens, towels and final cleaning. Heating (central heating) will be charged according to usage on the spot.
A deposit of 200 EURO is due upon arrival.
* During the periods 29.08.09 - 03.07.10 and 28.08.10 - 08.01.11 an additional amount of 32,50 Euros / week is charged for each 3rd and 4th person.
