"La Catara" means "the cooper" when translated and is the name of the Di Luccia family’s house.
The great-grandmother used to make her living by producing wine kegs and fishing baskets in her house directly at the sea.
The pride of the owners to belong to one of the old-established families of Santa Maria di Castellabate can be heard in their tales of traditions and customs of long-gone times.
Today the inhabitants of the former cooper’s house do not find work, but a relaxing holiday atmosphere.
The friendly, only recently renovated holiday apartment La Catara is located on the raised ground floor of the small, sunny yellow-coloured house. Only the lungomare of Santa Maria di Castellabate separates you from the fine sandy beach of the village.

At night you can wonderfully stroll about here and take a walk into the picturesque centro storico of Santa Maria di Castellabate, which is only about 400 m away. Or you enjoy the sea view with a glass of fine red wine and a cup of the olives typical for the region on the terrace in front of the house.
The kitchen-cum-living room facing the sea is spacious and bright. Stylish dining is possible on the large table, the commodes and the beautiful mirror provide for a classy ambience. The sofa invites to lounge or watch television.
In your holiday apartment you have two bedrooms at your disposal (each with a double bed). One of the rooms offers sleeping possibilities for two additional guests (bunk bed).
Especially handy are the two bathrooms. One is equipped with sink/bath tub/bidet/WC, the other with shower, basin for hand laundry and washing machine.
Shopping possibilities, restaurants, as well as little bars and stores are found only a few paces from your holiday apartment.
You may park your car on the "Lungomare" in front of the house.

Weekly prices for the holiday apartment are valid for the number of persons given in brackets and incl. bed linen, towels and final cleaning.
Heating (small gas stoves) will be charged on the spot at cost price.
A deposit of 100 Euro is due upon arrival.
* An amount of 40 Euro/week will be charged for the 5th and 6th person each in the periods 05.09.09 - 26.06.10 und 04.09.10 - 08.01.11 , in all other periods an amount of 50 Euro/week for each.
